The new label Tuffys and Tuffetts is the brainchild of year-old Lisa Nouh, whose mother lost her supervising role at Bonds in when it moved its operating base to China. Drawing on her mum's years' experience, Ms Nouh recruited 10 ex-staffers, bought disused equipment and set about designing the men's and women's ranges in direct competition to Bonds at their warehouse in Arndell Park. Despite acknowledging that her business costs would be significantly lower if she moved her operations offshore, Ms Nouh said she is passionate about the need to look after Australian workers.
